Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is BBL (BroadBand Light)?

BBL, or BroadBand Light, is an advanced light-based photofacial. Gentle pulses of broadband light target pigment and redness beneath the skin, fading sun damage and evening your tone while stimulating fresh, healthy skin.

  • What does BBL treat?

BBL improves sun damage, brown spots, freckles, facial redness and small vessels, uneven tone, dullness, active acne, and unwanted hair. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, back, arms, hands, and legs.

  • Is there downtime?

Downtime is minimal. Your skin may feel warm, like a mild sunburn, for thirty to sixty minutes, and any redness usually fades the same day. Treated brown spots often darken, then flake away over several days, so most people return to normal activities right away.

  • Does BBL hurt?

Most people describe a quick warm snap with each pulse, like a light rubber-band flick, eased by the cooling tip of the device. Treatments are quick and well tolerated, and numbing is usually not needed.

  • When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Skin often looks clearer and brighter within one to two weeks as treated pigment sheds. Results build with a series, and maintaining them depends on sun protection and periodic sessions.

  • Am I a good candidate?

Most people looking to address sun damage, redness, tone, acne, or unwanted hair are good candidates. BBL is not recommended during pregnancy or on recently tanned skin, and some settings are not suited to every skin tone, so we assess your skin at your consultation.

  • Is BBL safe for my skin tone?

Your provider will evaluate your skin type carefully. Certain BBL treatments use an in-motion technique suited to a wider range of skin tones, while traditional light settings are best for lighter skin. We tailor the approach to keep your treatment safe and effective.
